Answering Questions & Fears About Paris Hospital Transfer

Why was Paris moved from the admitting hospital?

The admitting hospital was a general adult hospital. It is standard procedure when a patient is assessed and has been treated for the immediate medical issues, that they are then  transferred  to a specialist hospital for further treatment.

Why couldn’t she stay at the first hospital?

When Paris was admitted to hospital, she needed urgent medical treatment  so she was taken to the nearest medical facility. Once her physical injuries have been treated, that hospital does not have the further specialist  care that Paris needs. Therefore the medical personnel would have decided to transfer her to another hospital which is more suited to the next stage of Paris treatment and care.

Why was Paris taken to a Pediatric (Children’s ) Department, she is 15 years old

Why was Paris taken to the same hospital where her father died?

UCLA is not one hospital building, it is a whole complex of different departments and buildings. It is more like a college campus,  than a single building traditional hospital. Paris was taken to the Pediatric department, Michael was taken to the Ronald Regan Building. The two buildings are at least 1 mile apart.

Why was Paris moved during the day with the media watching?

It would have been the medical personnel who would have arranged Paris transportation between the two hospital. As a non emergency patient transfer, she would have been given an allocated time. She is in the medical system and being treated normal person, not a celebrity. The people who do the patient transfers are not a limo or chauffeur service so Paris would not be given any special treatment ie transferred at night or taken in a back door.

Why were there no family members with Paris when she was moved?

Non emergency patient transfers usually happen outside patient visiting hours. The Jackson family would have been informed and given their consent for Paris to be moved but they might not have known the exact time of Paris transfer. The bodyguards were there as most likely they are paid to be with Paris 24 hours a day. They would not be classed as visitors as they would be located outside Paris room and their presence would not interfere with the medical treatment.
