Map of Dublin Airport Terminal 2

How To Get From Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 Dublin Airport

I’m sure there are many out there like me who fly Aer Lingus or to America who feel frustrated by the small selection of shops and eating places in The Loop Terminal 2 Dublin airport. One of my main grips is that Starbucks, Butlers Cafe, Easons, Boots, Superdry and Claires are now only located in  The Loop Terminal 1. I knew there had to be a way to get from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 after security. I have done many searches online but I could not find any information. There are plenty of sites showing information about how to get between the terminals before security and for transferring passengers, but no matter how much I searched I could not find any map or detailed explanation about how to get from the shops in The Loop Terminal 2 to the shops in The Loop Terminal 1.

So for all those like me who fly from Terminal 2 but want to go to the shops in Terminal 1, here is a proper detailed map and instructions of how to walk between Terminal 2 and Terminal 1 after security.

How To Get From Terminal Two To Terminal One After Security Dublin Airport Map

  1. Go Through Security In Terminal Two and walk into the shopping area
  2. Turn the corner right, at the pharmacy
  3. Walk along the right side of the shopping concourse, passing Wrights of Howth and W H Smith
  4. At the end of the concourse there are 2 paths , the toilets are to the left and the currency exchange to the right
  5. Take the path to the right as if you are going to the currency exchange
  6. Continue down this corridor past the currency exchange  On the wall you will see signs pointing down the corridor to the 300 Gates. Follow this sign
  7. At the end of the corridor you will see an escalator down, again with signs to the 300 Gates. Take the escalator down.
  8. At the bottom of the escalator walk forward and you will find yourself at a junction, coming out onto a long corridor. There will be signs for the 400 Gates pointing right and signs for the 300 Gates pointing left. Follow the signs for the 300 Gates, go to your left and walk up the corridor
  9. As you walk up the corridor you will see people up ahead of you
  10. You are now entering Terminal 1. Easons will be on your left and Terminal 1 security check will be on your right. You just continue walking and you will suddenly realize where you are
  11. To get back to Terminal 2, just reverse the journey, but you will have to walk up stairs on your return journey.
  12. Allow about 15 minutes each way to walk between the two terminals

There are no signs saying THIS WAY TO TERMINAL 1, only signs to the 300 Gates. It seems to me that the airport management knew that passengers would not be happy with the smaller selection of shops in Terminal 2 and that if they made it easy for passengers to go between the two terminals, people would spend all their time and money in Terminal one. Once you figure out that the 300 Gates are in Terminal 1, it is easy to find their sneakily hidden connecting corridors

  1. Thank you so much for posting that information. It’s a great help and I think you are right about the airport not wanting passengers to know about this. Cheers!
